How Indian Railways Serving the Nation in Coronavirus Outbreak?
The Indian Railway has come forward with a massive step towards the fight against the recent worldwide pandemic of Coronavirus. As a noble deed in contributing to the rising needs of health care for patients, as many as 20, 000 coaches are likely to be converted into isolation ward in trains so that patients can be provided with the necessary treatment.
Besides, IRCTC has also joined hands in this regard and has promised to assist the needy along with the Railway Board in equal measure.
Steps taken by the Indian Railway are listed below:
The freight trains are functional, and they will be carrying the necessary supplies such as rice, sugar, milk, edible oil, fruits to various regions. To ensure continuous supply among the common mass during this Coronavirus outbreak, the trains will remain operational.
Patients will be kept quarantined in the coached turned into isolation centers. These isolation ward in trains will have the necessary medical and food facilities to ensure proper treatment of the patients.
There is a massive shortage of Personal Protective Equipment or PPE. To overcome that, the Railway Board is developing these protective gears at a significant amount.
IRCTC which is the official partner of providing meals on passenger trains is also catering to the poor and homeless of society.
The staying period in retiring rooms for an individual is also extended as all the passenger trains have been cancelled.
With the steps taken by the Indian Railway amidst the Coronavirus outbreak, it is expected to minimize the challenges that have been faced by the frontliners, the patients as well as the common mass.
